Eric Pringle
As Vice President of Operations and a Principal of Hemmera, Eric Pringle brings over 21 years of experience in engineering and management to the role. A senior environmental engineer, Eric has an extensive background that includes environmental consulting, environmental contracting, manufacturing and industrial engineering. His experience has evolved through strong working relationships with signature clients in both the government and private sector.
Eric has drawn on his experience and become an invaluable advisor to Hemmera’s clients and partners providing a detailed approach with a big picture perspective that delivers project success. His work on contaminated sites began in 1988 and has since then been involved in large contaminated site negotiations and engaged in several brownfield projects as a senior technical and business manager. Brownfields are an active area of interest for Eric as he has been involved in the success of several brownfield developments including regulatory approvals, stakeholder consultation and remedial oversight.
Eric assembles and manages project teams for challenging assignments, both large and small. He works directly with clients and regulators. He provides senior technical peer-review and ensures project objectives are achieved on budget and on schedule. He provides senior input to contract negotiations, sub-contract management, site investigation strategies and remedial options and approaches.
Eric directs, manages, and coordinates projects for contaminated site investigations (all phases), environmental audits, site remediation and decommissioning, environmental risk/impact assessment and waste management and treatment. With a professional history that includes significant experience in environmental management, assessment and approvals; site assessment; remediation; public consultations; stakeholder liaison and negotiations; legal work and expert witness preparation, Eric provides an in-depth level of experience on multi-faceted projects. Eric has completed and been involved in hundreds of contaminated site investigations and assessments. He has remediated and cleaned up numerous sites. He has managed or played a lead role in projects with budgets in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and in more than eight multi-million dollar site remediation projects. He has been involved in all aspects of projects, from Phase Investigations [I and II Preliminary Site Investigations (PSIs) and Detailed Site Investigations (DSIs)]; Remedial Options Reviews (RORs); Remedial Action Plans (RAPs); Remedial Design; Risk and Impact Assessments and Regulatory Approvals, including the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA), through to actual remediation.
He is an excellent writer, having authored numerous papers, countless proposals, work plans, financial summaries, technical reports and opinions. He has presented technical positions and facts to clients, peers, regulators and the public. Community involvement is also a focus for Eric. He has managed pro bono work for the expansion of a science world and for a daycare development by the YMCA. He is also a board member of the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, the British Columbia Environment Industry Association (BCEIA) and avid supporter of Hemmera’s involvement with the United Way and the Robert Bateman Get to Know program.
