Garold (Gary) Markle, an Atlanta-based management consultant with more than 20 years of experience in the field of human resources, has helped companies, both large and small, tackle an extensive range of people-related challenges.

Gary’s consulting firm, Energage, provides a variety of products and services related to the design and implementation of performance management systems. Gary and his associates conduct "Benchmarking Workshops" and "Coaching Clinics." They perform individual and team-based interventions and enjoy the role of being the "coach’s coach." Energage also helps firms better align their people systems with business strategy. The firm’s client companies range in size from two to 50,000 employees.

Before starting his consulting practice, Gary served as vice president of human resources for a global chemical company. Other work experience includes a variety of HR positions with three internationally prominent companies, including two that were in the Fortune 100.

Gary’s recently completed book, "Catalytic Coaching: The End of the Performance Review," was published by Quorum Books in February of 2000. It’s now on its third printing having maintained a ranking in the top five percent of all books sold on Amazon.com for 16 consecutive months following its release.

Gary is a long-time student of the process of communication in the workplace. He holds two degrees in organizational communication, with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree from Purdue University.
