Peter Andersen


Peter advises senior management at companies such as Travelers Guarantee, Great-West Life, Cushman & Wakefield, Canadian Gypsum, Carrier, Adecco, Hanson Brick and Monarch Development Corporation. He is also the chief economic advisor for the Canadian Home Builders' Association.

He has always emphasized communication and the need to put economic analysis into terms that are useful for business decision-making. The Financial Post has rated Dr. Andersen as Canada's most accurate economic forecaster several times. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences in Canada and the United States.

Early in his career he was Assistant Chief of the Bank of Canada's research Department. He advised the Governor and Bank of Canada management on economic conditions and the economic outlook.

Peter then moved to Toronto to join the management consulting firm Woods Gordon, which later became Ernst & Young. As a partner with this national consulting firm, Dr. Andersen directed its economic forecasting practice. Dr. Andersen was Chief Economist with the investment dealer firm, Burns Fry, now Nesbitt Burns, before founding Andersen Economic Research in 1984.
