TEC Canada Chair Ray Levesque helps his TEC members to focus on planning, financing and market development. His consulting techniques are infused with the best of applied business theory, and he offers many years of executive leadership experience, with a special interest in continuous learning and development. Ray exemplifies the TEC value of lifelong learning and its importance to the development of executive excellence.
In addition to his position as TEC Chair, Ray operates his own consulting practice, primarily for small and medium-sized firms. Ray has continuously sought to educate the business community by publishing many articles and studies in various fields of management. He has also taught at the University of Ottawa, Carleton and Concordia.
Prior to his consultancy venture and career with TEC, Ray was CFO and subsequently CEO of two investment and high technology firms, both listed on the Canadian Exchange and NASDAQ. He has served on various boards of directors and continues to be active with a number of business organizations in the greater Montréal area.
During his thirty-year career, Ray has served as a senior executive with a number of public and private sector organizations. His public sector positions include: Director General of Strategic Planning for the Federal Government Department of Communications; Vice President of Management Research for the Conference Board of Canada; and President of CIREM, the International Centre for Research in Management.
In the private sector, Ray has served as Vice President of three large real estate development and investment companies – Campeau Corporation, Minto Developments and York Hanover Developments. Ray continued to develop his expertise in financing and financial research and consulting as a past Director of Research for a national investment dealer, Whalen Beliveau (later acquired by Canaccord Capital).
Ray was born and educated in Ottawa. He earned master-level degrees in economics, finance and administration from the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. He expanded his knowledge base by completing a series of courses and certificates from the Canadian Securities Institute. Ray has also gained insight through post-graduate training in counseling psychology with the Adler Institute of Chicago.
Music is Ray’s personal passion. He is an accomplished saxophonist, having played professionally for many years.
